“What can the working world of the future look like? And how can humans and robots work together in the future?” Federal Research Minister Anja Karliczek discussed these questions with representatives from ARENA2036 Research Campus (Stuttgart) at the stand of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research at the Hannover Messe on April 23rd, 2018.

The ARENA2036 Research Campus aims to establish the agile factory of the future. This will enable the automotive industry to implement smart, functionally integrated, multi-material, lightweight construction solutions. Federal Research Minister Anja Karliczek informed herself at the trade fair stand about a screwdriver assistant, which is intended to support people in repetitive and ergonomically stressful activities. The employees and their needs are at the center of this development in production technology.

The screwdriving robot is designed so that the entire programming of a sequence can be adapted intuitively and as quickly as possible without special robot knowledge. This allows the employees on the production line to react in a most flexible way to changes.
